Make a worksheet in three steps

Spelling lists and sight words

Enter one word per line: this week’s spelling words, family names, colours or vocabulary from a topic. You can also add a Pre-K, Kindergarten or First-grade sight word list with one click and edit it. Each word is shown once as a model and then repeated for tracing as many times as fit on the row, with the last space left blank for writing from memory.

Long words are never squeezed or cut: if a word needs the whole line, it gets a line of its own.

Read, trace, write

Ask children to read the word aloud, trace it while saying each letter and then write it in the blank space. Switching from dotted letters to light grey tracing over a few weeks moves them gradually toward independent writing.

Printing tips

  • Print at Actual size or 100% so the guide lines keep their real height.
  • Use Grayscale or B&W mode to save colour ink; tracing lines stay visible on home printers.
  • Heavier paper (100–120 g/m²) or a sheet protector makes pages reusable with dry-erase markers.
  • For a class set, download the PDF once and print the number of copies you need.

Yes. Type or paste one word per line in Content. Up to 200 words are supported, and extra rows continue on new pages.

Are sight word lists included?

Yes. Choose a Pre-K, Kindergarten or First-grade sight word list to add it to your words. You can edit or remove any word.

How many times is each word traced?

The word is shown once as a model and repeated for tracing as many times as fit on the line, with the last space left for independent writing.

Can I change the letter case?

Yes. Choose As typed, UPPERCASE, lowercase or Title Case.
