How to sign a PDF in 3 steps

  1. Open your PDF. Drop it into the box above or choose it from your phone or computer. It is opened in your browser, not uploaded.
  2. Create and place your signature. Draw with a finger, mouse or stylus, type your name in any script, or upload a photo of your signature on paper (the background is removed). Tap the page — or a yellow Sign here spot — to place it. Add initials, date, text, a tick or a company stamp the same way.
  3. Download. Click Finish & Download. You get your-file-signed.pdf, with signatures flattened into the page by default.

What you can add

  • Signature — drawn (smooth, pressure-style strokes, saved as vector for crisp print), typed in 12+ fonts including Hindi/Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu/Arabic and Chinese, or uploaded from a photo.
  • Initials — on one page or on every page (all, odd, even or a custom list) at the position you choose.
  • Date, name, email, company and free text — date formats DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, “30 Sept 2026” or Hindi numerals.
  • Company stamp / seal — upload your round seal (background removed) or generate a circular text seal.
  • Form fields — if the PDF has fillable fields, use Next field to move through them, including signature fields.
  • Signing summary (optional) — an extra page with signer name, date and time, and SHA-256 hashes of the original and signed pages. It is a self-attested record, not a certificate.

Frequently asked questions

Is an e-signature made here legally valid?

It depends on your country, the type of document and what the other party accepts. Many everyday agreements accept a simple electronic signature like this one. Some documents need a specific method — in India, for example, filings that require Aadhaar eSign or a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) should be signed with those services. If you are unsure, ask the recipient or a legal adviser.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is opened, signed and saved inside your browser on your device. LyfPDF does not receive the document.

Can I type my signature in Hindi, Urdu or another language?

Yes. Type your name in Latin, Devanagari, Bengali, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Arabic/Urdu or Chinese script. The script is detected automatically, matching signature fonts are shown first, and the letters are shaped correctly.

How do I add initials to every page?

Create your initials, then under Apply choose Initials, All pages (or odd, even or a custom list) and a position such as bottom-right, and click Add to pages.

Can others move my signature after I download?

With Flatten switched on (the default), signatures and filled fields are merged into the page content, so ordinary PDF viewers show them as part of the page. Anyone with editing software can still change a PDF, so keep your original and, if needed, add the optional signing summary page with SHA-256 hashes.
