Practical invoice guide

Set Invoice Currency, Tax Labels & Rates

LyfPDF provides editable currency and tax controls so you can enter the settings for your transaction. This guide explains the controls and the checks to make; it does not determine the tax treatment of a sale.

Choose currency separately from language

Open Currency and choose the currency you need from the supported list. The available list depends on browser support, with a fallback list for older environments. USD, EUR, GBP and INR are among the options. You can separately choose how currency is displayed and which regional number/date format to use. Selecting a currency does not convert prices or fetch an exchange rate.

Set invoice-label language

Invoice labels are available in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch and Hindi. A label language changes document labels; it does not translate your item descriptions or create a translated version of the whole website. Check your entered text and the PDF output in the selected language.

Understand country presets

Country presets set editable starting values such as currency, tax label and paper size. Review them instead of treating them as a decision about your tax obligations. Applicable settings can depend on the transaction, registration status and location. Changing a preset can change more than one setting, so check currency and paper size as well as taxes.

Review tax names and rates

Use the tax controls to enter the label, rate and supported calculation mode that match your verified requirements. The editor includes options for a second tax and an India GST split. VAT invoice settings and GST invoice settings should reflect your actual transaction, not a default chosen merely because it is available. Confirm the relevant details using an appropriate official source or your adviser where needed.

Discounts, shipping and withholding

The editor supports percentage or fixed discounts, shipping and withholding fields. Their effect depends on the settings you select. Review the intermediate amounts and final balance after every change. Do not assume that entering a withholding label files a return, remits money or establishes how a tax authority treats the transaction.

Amount paid is separate from tax

Enter only payments actually received in the amount-paid field. Check the remaining balance after taxes, discounts and other charges. For help reading this part of the document, use the invoice payment terms and balances guide. LyfPDF does not verify bank payments.

Check the final invoice before sharing

Confirm the currency, number format, tax labels, rates, seller and customer identifiers, subtotal, deductions and balance. Open the downloaded PDF and check that all labels and amounts are visible. The generator prepares a document; it does not certify compliance, provide tax filing or replace your own transaction records.

Frequently asked questions

No. Review and enter amounts in your chosen currency. Currency formatting is not a live exchange-rate conversion service.

Are country tax presets a compliance guarantee?

No. They are editable starting points. Review the tax settings and required details for your transaction before exporting.
