School timetables differ in three main ways: the school week (Monday–Friday in most countries, Sunday–Thursday in much of the Gulf, Monday–Saturday in many Indian schools), lesson length (from about 35 minutes in primary school to 90-minute blocks) and the shape of the day (one long morning, or a full day with lunch). The timetable maker lets you set all three and print the poster in seven languages.

United States and Canada

A middle or high school bell schedule typically has six to eight periods of 45–55 minutes, a lunch period and sometimes an advisory or homeroom. Many high schools use A/B or 4×4 block schedules. Times use AM/PM. Template: US bell schedule.

United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand

Secondary schools often run five or six lessons of 50–60 minutes with morning break and lunch, sometimes on a two-week (Week A/Week B) cycle. Primary days are more flexible. Template: UK Year 7 timetable.

India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal

Many schools teach Monday to Saturday with seven or eight periods of 35–45 minutes, a short break and a lunch break, and a class teacher responsible for each section. Templates: India Std I timetable or the Hindi time table maker.

Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and the wider Middle East

Schools in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and several other countries teach Sunday to Thursday, usually with 45-minute periods and one or two breaks. The UAE moved to a Monday–Friday week with a shorter Friday. Arabic timetables read right to left. Templates: Sunday–Thursday timetable or the Arabic timetable maker.

Germany, Austria and Switzerland

A Stundenplan is built on 45-minute lessons, often paired as double lessons, with short breaks and a longer break (große Pause). Many schools finish in the early afternoon. Make one on the German Stundenplan page.

France, Belgium and French-speaking countries

Collège and lycée lessons usually last 55 minutes, with breaks morning and afternoon and a long lunch; many primary schools have no classes on Wednesday. Make an emploi du temps in French.

Spain, Latin America, Brazil and Portugal

Many schools run morning and afternoon shifts, with 45–60-minute lessons and a recess. Make a horario escolar in Spanish or a horário escolar in Portuguese.

Japan, Korea, China and Southeast Asia

Lessons of 45–50 minutes are common, often with homeroom, cleaning time and club activities in the timetable. Use extra rows for these and rename them freely; you can type subjects in any script your device supports.

Making one timetable work anywhere

  • Set lesson length and breaks, then auto-fill the times.
  • Pick 12-hour or 24-hour time, or let it follow the device.
  • Choose the poster language — English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Hindi or Arabic (right to left).
